COVID 19 EMERGENCY
All B&Bs, hotels, self catering properties, tourist attractions, restaurants, pubs, bars, cafes, cinemas, libraries, theatres, sports centres and shops (except for food shops or pharmacies) are closed. Public transport is reduced, only people normally resident on Scottish Islands may use the ferries for essential trips. Only essential travel by car is permitted.
There is an abundance of outdoor activities for you to enjoy in Callander.
Keen outdoor enthusiasts can make use of the miles of cycle paths and walkways throughout the Trossachs. For those who enjoy more rugged terrain there are ample opportunities to take mountain bikes off road or to simply run through the forests.
Hill climbing is another popular visitor pastime, with Ben Ledi looking particularly inviting from Callander’s Main Street. Slightly further afield there is a selection of Munros (hills over 3,000 feet) waiting to be conquered – Ben Vorlich and Ben Lomond to name just two.
Birdwatchers can try and spot birds of prey such as Red Kites, Golden eagles and Ospreys, whilst wildlife enthusiasts can keep an eye out for Red Deer, Roe Deer, Pine Martens, Otters and Red Squirrels.
