Being centrally located in Scotland, Callander is easily accessible to both overseas travellers and UK visitors. Situated just over an hour away from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, visiting Callander is very straightforward.  Perth is approximately 40 minutes from Callander and Stirling around 25 minutes away.

By Air

From Glasgow Airport

There are several car hire companies at Glasgow airport. Taxis are also available.

By car from Glasgow Airport

Take the M8 from Glasgow airport towards Edinburgh/Glasgow. After about 10 miles take the M80 exit towards Stirling/Kincardine Bridge. Continue on M80 for approximately 20 miles then Merge onto the M9.  At Junction 10 of the M9 take the A84 exit sign posted A85 / Stirling / Callander / Crianlarich. At roundabout take the 2nd exit to A84 and continue until you reach your destination - Callander 

From Edinburgh Airport

There are several car hire companies at Edinburgh Airport. Taxis are also available. There is also a new tram service that will take you directly to Edinburgh’s Waverley train station. The tram runs very frequently (every 10-15 minutes)

By car from Edinburgh Airport

From the terminal head south-east on Jubilee Road. At the roundabout take 1st exit. At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Eastfield Road. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit and stay on Eastfield Road. Veer right and merge onto Glasgow Road/A8 via the sliproad to Glasgow / Livingston / Stirling / M9 / M8 / A90. At the next roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the M9 slip road to A90/Stirling/Linlithgow. Merge onto the M9. Stay on M9 for approximately 25 miles and then at junction 10 take the A84 exit to A85 / Stirling / Callander / Crianlarich. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A84. At next roundabout take 2nd exit  onto A84 and continue on A84 to your destination - Callander

By Train

Callander no longer has a train station but a taxi can be taken from Dunblane train station (about 11 miles away) or a bus or taxi can be taken from Stirling. Stirling train station is about 17 miles from Callander.

Trains from Glasgow

Glasgow to Dunblane - Trains from Glasgow’s Queen Street Station to Dunblane take between 45 – 90 minutes and run frequently throughout the day. 

Glasgow to Stirling - Trains from Glasgow’s Queen Street station run regularly throughout the day to Stirling and take between 30 – 60 minutes.

Trains from Edinburgh

Edinburgh to Dunblane - Trains from Edinburgh’s Waverley station to Dunblane take between 65-100 minutes and run frequently throughout the day.

Edinburgh to Stirling - Trains from Edinburgh’s Waverley station to Stirling take between 50 – 85 minutes and run regularly throughout the day.
